Come Monday, I have to put my boots away!?

It is Monday and the Boot Babe is here to help you with the no more boots blues. It could be the worst part of the weekend being over. With all of the great sales lately on the Boot Babes' page I bet most of us have a hankering to wear our new boot beauties as much as we can. Raise your hand if you have already contemplated sleeping in them because you love them so much!

Do y’all hate the weekend coming to an end because you think it means you have to put your boots away now that it is time to go earn more boot and grocery money? Babes, think again!  If you have a job where it is ok or even necessary to wear your beloved boots all week long, we salute you but are a little jealous.  Now, for those Boot Babes with a 9-5 that are tied to business casual or business professional, this post is for you!

First of all, are you business casual or business professional during the week?  That will make a lot of difference in how Boot Babe chic you get to be with your outfits.  Business casual can embrace all of the fun styles and colors.  Really!  Business professional, you can still show your boots off but are more limited.

Let’s look at business professional first.  This Boot Babe has seen in the great state of Texas professional women pull off tall boots with skirt suits.  Double D Ranch by Lane Domingo, I am looking at you! For most places and for most babes, I would say this is a bit too much for business professional.  Now if you flip this to pant suits, this is where the sweet spot is in my opinion.  Boot Babes, you can completely wear a snip or even better a pointed (or 0) toe boot with a pant suit with wide or boot cut legs.  It does not look that much different than a pair of pointed toe pumps y’all.  Please just match the boot color to your suit.  Brown, black, burgundy, and navy are all safe in my eyes.

Now to the fun stuff. Business casual.  Oh the freedom!  The Boot Babe could go on a rant reminiscent of the shrimp scene in Forrest Gump.   Boots with leggings, boots with khakis, boots with dresses…

First of all, khakis can be switched with black leggings if y’all can’t be that casual.  Khakis that are fitted, a button down, a sweater, and riding boots and there you have an instant Boot Babe work approved look.  Throw on a blazer for an even more polished look if you need to.  The switch up with this is to change the riding boots to a pair of ankle booties. Remember to cuff your pants! This is great for spring and summer when riding boots are just too much to wear comfortably.

Next, dresses. Pretty much any dress can be worn with boots.  A great solid pair of boots is perfect for patterned dresses. If you are brave and bold, pick a dress with a pattern and boots with a corresponding color either in the leather or embroidery.  Add some jewelry in the same color and you have a super fun and chic look that is still business casual.  If you need it, a blazer, cardigan, or vest can be added to any dress too. This is where us Boot Babes can have fun showing off out gorgeous patterned boots with bright colors, intricate designs, and stud work.  Literally any boot style you can find from Boots n’ Rags can be styled this way.  If you are looking for the perfect dress, they have you covered there too!

Now Boot Babes, I am gonna need y’all to back up to something I said earlier. Leggings.  Y’all they still ain’t britches!   You need to cover the booty region or it is no bueno for work. Period. No arguing here.  I can’t let you go and get fired, lose your boot money source, and look less than classy.  For work if your workplace allows it y’all can wear leggings but say it with me, LEGGINGS AIN’T BRITCHES!

So, now that we have that out of the way, how can you wear leggings to work?  Well, treat them like tights when you were 5.  Your Momma would be proud because you are covered, you will be happy ‘cause you ain’t freezing, and your boss will be happy because you don’t look like a floozy!   You can wear leggings of any color, most patterns, and from any price point as long as you treat them like your unmentionables.  Top them with a dress, the same ones you wear all of the time when it is warm, but now with leggings you can wear them year round.  Top them with a LONG tunic top that covers so much that it is darn near a dress as well.

I will say fleece lined leggings are best and totally amazing when it is cold.  Also, choose a legging that fits you well. If they are too tight they are see through enough to be tights and that ain’t pretty y’all.  Match your top, leggings, and boots and have fun! Again you can bring in colors and fun boots to show off.  Plus, this look too accommodates boots from the talls to the smalls and everything in between.  Add a cool cardigan or vest when it is chilly and you will be comfortable and totally Boot Babealicious.

Well, there y’all have it! Try it out and have fun.  If you need help, Boots n’ Rags is always there to meet your clothing and boot needs.  Work is so much better when you get to be a little bit more you in your wardrobe and when you can show off the boots you work so hard for!

Love y’all and until next time, let your boots rock your socks!
